Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack

News & Current Events , Review , Xbox 360 No Comments »

I have now spent the better part of three weeks with the new Halo 3 Map packs, and while new maps are always fun, this pack just isn't that great.

Price: 800 Microsoft Points
Availability: All Xbox LIVE regions
Dash Text: [ESRB: M (Mature) BLOOD AND GORE,MILD LANGUAGE,VIOLENCE] The long-awaited Mythic Map Pack drops into Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Investigate Orbital’s abandoned hallways - before it was evacuated, the Quito Space Tether was heralded as the “Civil Engineering Monument of the Millennium.” Witness Assembly, where Scarab hulls loom overhead, being decontaminated in preparation for the city-sized Lekgolo colonies that will breathe life into the massive metal husks. An excavation site surrounded by deadly Forerunner defenses, the mysteries of Sandbox are hidden high above, deep below, and right before your eyes. There are no refunds for this item. For more information, see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.

Out of the three only Orbital has provided me with any sense of enjoyment. Assembly and Sandbx both seem to be lacking something. The game types that have been in rotation for the last few weeks are OK, but I really prefer Brains, Shotty-Snipers and Swords to SWAT and another round of regular slayer. Even my six year old seems to agree, he'd rather play the Legendary and Heroic maps than the new maps. And kids always go where the fun is....right?

I am sure with time and getting these maps into regular rotation will probably make them alot more enjoyable, but for now, I give it a 3 out of 5 on the fun factor.
